Unblock Skype in Oman [ Edited ]

There are several  ways to run Skype in Oman. But the best advice I can give you is connect to Skype through a proxy server. This is  the easiest decision to run Skype in Oman.

Steps to follow:

Download and install latest version of Skype directly from Skype website. You may also download Skype from OldApps.Com.

Run Skype. In Skype Click Tools >> Click Connection options...to configure your proxy settings. 

 

In the drop-down menu that appears in the middle of the connection options, select the appropriate proxy type. You are given three options: Automatic proxy detection, SOCKS5 or HTTPS.

Select HTTPS >> In the "Host" box type the proxy IP address 68.71.76.242 , In the box labeled "Port", write the port of the proxy 8082, then click "Save".

Note: I will update the proxy IP address and Port when required.

Exit Skype : From the system tray >> right click on the skype icon and click "Quit Skype"

Restart Skype and sign in. You are now able to connect Skype successfully.

Hi Tamim,

Has that method been verified by any people using it in Morocco. I need to get Skype working for my wife in Morocco. Also does hotspot shield actually do the job or do I need another virtual network?
