Turning off Highlighting Function for Internet Searches

How do I turn off the function in Skype that highlights all phone numbers that appear in web pages when I search the internet?

You can either disable the Skype plugin (procedure depends on what browser you are using, just refer to the help pages of that browser on how to disable plugins and add-ons) or uninstall the Skype Toolbar (Control Panel >> Uninstall Programs...search for Skype Toolbar)
