Strange login issue.

Hello. After upgrading to 5.9 I cannot login (ONLY) into my skype profile in windows. I can login into skype with other accounts (brother logins ok). The laptop runs on WinXP Pro. I have uninstalled-installed 2-3 times the newest version and the previous version. Skype login in Linux (same laptop) and Android phone runs ok. Tried in desktop (WinXP Home) same problem.

It's odd that the problem is happening on two different machines and just with your Skype name, but I suggest you try this on at least one of the XP machines:

Hold the Windows key and type r.  Type %appdatat%\Skype <enter>.  Rename the folder with your Skype name to something like \MySkypeName_old.

Restart Skype and see if you can signin to your account.

I was asked for my password for the first time ever. After I submitted it, Skype replied with a screen that said they "couldn't sync my contacts and that was as far as I could go. Help.

I have a slightly similar issue. I let my friends sign in on their skype acocunts on my computer and skype seems to save all of their user names but it will not save or recognise mine. I want my skype to automatically sign in when I start up my computer however, I always end up having to manually login by removing my friend's skype name and entering in my own with the password. I also tried unsitalling and reinstalling the programme, but the problem still persists?? Can you tell me why this happens and how to fix it?

I've never seen or heard of that error message. 

You can try resetting your Skype configuration files with this procedure to see if it helps:

Quit Skype.  Hold the Windows key and type r.  In the box that comes up type %appdata% <enter>.  Scroll down to find the \Skype folder and rename it something like \Skype_old.  Restart Skype.

Note:  Renaming the Skype folder will move IM and call history to the renamed folder.  They can be recovered with a few extra steps.

To remove your friends' Skype names from your PC:  Quit Skype.  Hold the Windows key and type r.  In the box that come up type %appdata%\Skype <enter>.  Find and delete any folders with the Skype names you want to remove.

Restart Skype.

I have the same problem with Windows 7. I can not login in my accounts from my laptop (windows 7) while I can access skype from my desktop (windows xp)
