I have an HP pavilion dv7.
I can hear everything and use skype perfectly fine if I have speakers set to "communication headphones (IDT High Definition Audio)". If any non skype sound starts playing, the non skype sound gets re-routed to my laptop speakers. That doesn't work if I want to use skype for communication when gaming.
If I have the sound set to "speakers & headphones (IDT....)" it used to fix the problem.
Now I won't get any sound in skype with this setting, it works fine everywhere else.
I have tried disabling "communication headphones" in windows but it makes no difference.
I have the latest updates for Windows, Skype and my sound card drivers.
"Communications headphones" and "speakers & headphones" are the two sound options I have.
