Snapshot & photo gallery on new skype

I have the same problem after updating to 5.5, the "snapshot gallery" option on "View" just didn't light up. I can't take snapshot neither, even if I pressed the "+" there is no photo taking option. I tired removing the new version and installed 5.3, problem still exists. Can anyone give us a hand here?

I took some pictures of my new grandson on Skype this morning, after updating my version of Skype. I have wasted hours trying to find them again. This is very disappointing. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

How can I take photos and retrieve my photo gallery on Skype?

Snapshot gallery is greyed out, unable to take any snapshots while using this new version of Skype.  %appdata%\skype /pictures  does NOT work. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Skype to no avail. Please help, thank you.

Just for clarification, the proper syntax to get to the \Pictures folder is:

%appdata%\Skype\Pictures   No spaces, and no forward slashes.

Hold the Windows key, type r, and in the box that comes up, type

%appdata%\Skype\Pictures exactly (or copy paste it) and hit enter.

That should bring your to your picture files.

correct, there should be no extra spaces, I'll edit my previous reply to avoid confusion.  But I seems that using forward or backward slash in some portion of the command would bring the same effect (at least on Windows 7 Ultimate).  

%appdata%/skype\pictures

%appdata%\skype\pictures
