SkypeSetup.exe not a valid Win32 application?

Attempting to run SkypeSetup.exe.on a PC with Windows 7 fails with the message that SkypeSetup.exe is not a valid Win32 application. What should I do?

Try this installer for version 5.6.0.110:

http://download.skype.com/msi/SkypeSetup_5.6.0.110.msi

or, better yet, the current beta version:

http://download.skype.com/msi/SkypeSetup_5.7.0.123.msi

I downloaded the alternate file they gave in the answer and it downloaded in Spanish. I now have a skype version I cannot read.

I am having same problem, even with this link i am getting "this installation package cant be opened,verify a valid windows installer  package "      quite annoying, just put win 7 on pc now seems cat get skype.
