SkypeSetup.exe not a valid Win32 application?

Attempting to run SkypeSetup.exe.on a PC with Windows 7 fails with the message that SkypeSetup.exe is not a valid Win32 application. What should I do?

Try this installer for version 5.6.0.110:

http://download.skype.com/msi/SkypeSetup_5.6.0.110.msi

or, better yet, the current beta version:

http://download.skype.com/msi/SkypeSetup_5.7.0.123.msi

I am very impressed. You were able to respond immediately and provided the link to a version of the driver that worked on my PC. Thank you!

Re: SkypeSetup.exe not a valid Win32 application?

Glad you're up and running. If the beta .msi installer worked for you, you might want to try this link for the current full version: http://download.skype.com/msi/SkypeSetup_5.8.0.156.msi

Re: SkypeSetup.exe not a valid Win32 application?

I downloaded the alternate file they gave in the answer and it downloaded in Spanish. I now have a skype version I cannot read.
