After upgrading my skype version to version 5.9, my skype would open right after the installation. But after I sign out and quit. Then try to sign in again, my skype wont launch anymore, without any message popping up. It just wont launch. I've tried uninstalling it completely, then reinstalling for 3 times now. But in the end, it would open first then later on it wont. I freally need any help. Please Please.
Im using Windows Xp. (If that helps)

Since Skype opened the first time after you install, I suggest you start troubleshooting by resetting your Skype configuration files to see if it helps:
Hold the Windows key and type r. In the box that comes up type %appdata% <enter>. Scroll down to find the \Skype folder and rename it something like \Skype_old. Restart Skype.
Note: Renaming the Skype folder will move IM and call history to the renamed folder. They can be recovered with a few extra steps.

Thank you so much for the answer. no matter how much I want to do what you told me to, I can't. Another problem popped up. I installed AVG 2012 last night, then uninstalled it using the removal tool because it makes my computer restart over and over again. Now I am trying to install Skype, but this message popped up. "An installation for AVG 2012 is currently suspended. You must undo the changes made by that installation to continue. Do you want to undo those changes? (yes or no)"
I definitely dont want AVG 2012. Any suggestion? Please help me again. . Please please

I usually subscripe to the old adage "you get what you pay for" Also..."buy cheap, buy twice." ![]()
But when it comes to Windows a/v and firewall, I've been very happy with Microsoft Security Essentials since it came out. It defies the old adage. ![]()
Glad you're up and running. ![]()
