I am trying to install Skype on Wins 7 64 bit. Everytime I install it does not complete and I get the error "Skype has stopped working" If I view the problem details it says "Problem Event Name: BEX" I have tried different versions, different fixes I found online. Nothing works. Anyone know how to fix this?

Please, post the complete error message from Windows Event Viewer -> Custom Views -> Administrative Events. You may copy and paste here the text from the General tab.

Yes I tried the latest version (5.10). The error is the same. I switched to the older version to see if it would fix the problem. I will try the new version again and post the error.

This one was "much better". Do you have a 32-core CPU on your computer? If so, then see this:

Here is a MR. FixIT
http://support.microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_
Run this FixIT.
Temporary disable the anti-virus & Do all Windows Updates, including Software and Hardware, not just the Critical Updates. In most cases, this will resolves the issue.

No "MR FixIt" and even not "Sir FixIT" will help in this case.

Are you saying that there is no way to get Skype to work on my machine?
