I mistakenly 'quit' Skype & I can't sign in again. I was notified that Skype cannot connect to my Internet & to get help fixing it. All other websites are well connected including my iPad, which is on WiFi. Funny thing is that I can sign in on Skype on my iPad but not my computer.
I even removed Skype from my computer & tried to download it again, but I get the Chinese version, which is not what I want. It still give me back my origianl sign in page, but it still doesn't sign in.
You have Norton antivirus installed on your system, Uninstall the Antivirus and Skype.
Remove the folder skype from %appdata%.
Reinstall skype older verison from http://www.oldapps.com/skype.ph Choose Skype 22.214.171.124 .
Login to skype with your default Id, it will work.
Hi everyone, I am also having the same problem. The little icon is greyed out and spinning and so I am unavailable. Rubbish. Uninstalled and reinstalled and still the same. And yet my netbook is fine. What are they doing at Skype? Their help page is a pack of rubbish when you actually have a problem.
