Skype tells me 'Skype Home unavailable'

Hi. 

When I sign into Skype with my account it says
'Skype Home unavailable

Skype Home is unavailable at the moment. Check back later to see your news and alerts.

It's easy to start a conversation on Skype:

• Choose a contact and start talking
• Call a phone or mobile from the dial pad, or send an SMS.'

I tried to delete Skype from my computer and then reinstall it, but it still says the same. 
Also I can't send requests to others and I can't get their requests either. 

The funny thing is though, that it works just fine on my iPhone.

Make sure your connection status is set to online.

try to Reset Internet Explorer settings.

now try running skype

I tried the info that Tamin sent to me and I still am not connecting and when I click on "online", it still shows my status as the skype symbol as white with a bluish line around it and the center moving as like it is trying to connect and the same message as before.

What Firewall and Antivirus applications are installed on your computer?

have you tried to reset you internet explorer settings? add Skype application to your antivirus / firewall ... exclusion/trusted programs lists.

Yes I have tried all that you sent to me .. and still will not log me into skype, keeps telling me I am not connected to internet, but as you can see, I am on internet sending this thru the skype website

What anti-virus application or security suite is installed on your PC?

i have norton internet security is this part of the problem

The problem is that you have the skype new version, try usin a computer with an older version and you will be adding contacts again. When they updated the new version they built this problem for us users. Hopefully they will update their professionals to stop building us problems.
