Windows 7, Skype 5.8
Hi everybody!
I got a problem with Skype for a week. At exactly 4 minutes in a videocall it shutdown automatically my pc! I had 5.5 version and I tried updating to the 5.8 ones, but I still have the same problem! What can I do?
Thanks.

It sounds like your CPU may be overheating from processing the video call.
When you're on the video call, start Task Manager, how much CPU are you using?
What type CPU do you have? Does your PC have a utlity to measure CPU temperature?
After a crash, look in Event Viewer > Custom Views > Administrative Events. See if there are any errors that happened right before the crash. Copy and paste and error report that seems related here.

And I have a Mobile Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 2.53 Ghz. I noticed that temperature raise at about 20°C during a videocall! It sounds like normal?
Thank you very much!

Do you have a fingerprint device installed on your computer? The error message seems to be related to this device. See this:

I’m not sure if this has anything to do with Skype.
