So, today I decided to download new skype version (5.0 I guess). I installed this, but when I start skype, it shows white screen. I don't know why I need a solution. When I was using older skype version everything was fine (except one fact - adding contact was impossible because skype can't load any contacts I'm searching).
I'm so sorry for my bad english, but I really need to solve this problem. (
Please try to install this over what you currently have: http://skype.com/go/getskype-full
Using your Windows Control Panel, please do:
Internet Options -> Advanced Tab Please click the "Reset" button.
Then, Go to the Connections Tab.
Make sure that the only checkbox checked is "Automatically detect settings", then click the "OK" button.
Using your Windows Control Panel do:
Internet Options -> Delete key -> Delete key
There is no such thing as XP 2000, if you are on Windows 2000 then you will need to run an older release such as this: http://download.oldapps.com/Skype/SkypeSetup_5.0.0
I have the same problem, I am running Skype on Windows 7 on an Acer laptop (Aspire 573 Skype worked fine until a few weeks ago when I try to open it the window displays nothing but a white (or sometimes black) screen. It used to be only the 'search for people' that did this but now it is the main login window too. Skype does seem to be working normaly in safe mode.
