Skype resets selected recording device to Microphone in XP

Hai.

Getting very frustrated trying to use Skype. It keeps resetting the default/selected microphone in Windows XP to "Microphone" when I only want to use "Line-In/Mic 2".

Is there anyway to configure Skype to only use "Line-In/Mic 2" or to stop Skype changing the default back to "Microphone"?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. At the moment Skype is basicalloy unusable for me.

it is important to note that the original poster provided no detail about their setup, so no wonder there was apparently no response
