Skype not working

I used skype yesterday but when I tried to use it for both a regular call and a video call today it does not give me an option to do it.  I uninstalled Skype and re-installed it, turned off my Windows firewall and my anti-virus firewall and still it doesn't work.  Help!!

What version of Skype are you running?  Click on Help > About Skype for the specific version number.

What version of Windows?  XP?  Vista?  Win 7?

When you say "regular" call, do you mean a call to a phone number or an audio only call to a Skype contact?
