Skype is Crashing on Start-Up

When Skype starts it crashes.  I get a Windows error message that says something like "Skype has stopped working.  Windows is searching for a solution.".

A couple of notes...

-It was working before

-I am running Windows 7

Things I have already tried:

-Installing latest version

-Installing latest Flash

-Renaming Skype "AppData" folder

Any auggestions are welcome!

Please post event viewer log in your very next reply.

Click Start >> Run >> Type eventvwr.msc /s

Custom Views>> Administrative Events

Look for any error message related to Skype crash.

Hi Tamim,

Attached is an event after a crash.  Seems apphelp.dll is failing?

Some other observations on the behavior of the application...

On startup of Windows Skype starts up automatically and crashes.  If I "manually" start the application through Windows explorer I do get the sign-in screen and the application doesn't crash until I click the "Sign-In" button.

Try to start your Windows in "Safe mode with networking".
- repeatedly tap F8 as you boot. Run Skype.

Do you get the same errors?

Works when I run Windows in "Safe Mode".  So what within Windows is messing up Skype?

try to disable all non microsoft services

Click start >> RUN >> type msconfig.exe and Press Enter.

Tick Hide all microsoft service >> Click Disable All

Restart your computer and try running Skype.
