Skype crashes when connecting

any answer to why skype is crashing.....HELP!!!!!!......ive uninstalled skpye and re-installed it. dont know what else to do. does skype have a phone number?

deleted and installed the new beta 5.7 as suggested by ruwim and hasnt crashed since.

Here's the exact steps I followed to resolve the Flash problem:

1. Open IE (my version is 9) and go to options, then manage addons
2. Find any existing version of Flash (It could be Adobe or Macromedia) and disable/unistall it
3. Go to Adobe.com and do a search for Flash Player
4. Download the new version of Flash
5. Run Skype

Another possible solution that I tried (it failed for me but may work for you) is to delete the Skype appdata folder. On Win7 (and probably Vista) you type %appdata% in the Start menu search bar, then hit enter. It will open Windows Explorer, and from there you have to find the folder named Skype and delete it. Hope this helps!

Every one thats having problems with skype crashing try downloading the 5.7 beta [invalid URL] it should solve the problem

crashing problem fixed. switched to beta. no more crashing. waiting to see if i can connect with anyone now

As I understand, the reason of such crashes is the "stuff" which is pushed by Skype/Microsoft in the available place on Skype right panel. If a component (likely Flash player) is "not good", it might crash. Crash will not happen if there is no room for the ads (text is there), or all components (IE - this is MS) are good.
