Skype crashes on login

Hi Team,

I have been asked to create a new thread for my problem.

We are experiencing a problem with SPYPE where the application will crash as soon as you login to the application.

I have uninstalled and re-installed the application. I have renamed %appdata%\Roaming\Skype to %appdata%\Roaming\Old_Skype and restarted the application with no affect to the problem at all.

I am the IT administrator for our business of aproximately 100 users with the following SOE:

Windows 7 SP1 32 bit OS

Internet Explorer 9 (version: 9.0.8112.16421)

MS Office Professional 2010

MS Security Essentials

(Security Essentials Version: 2.1.1116.0, Antimalware Client Version: 3.0.8402.0, Engine Version: 1.1.8101.0)

PC Tools Threatfire version 4.7.0.17

SKYPE version 5.8.0.156

Here is the event log of the crash:

Re: Skype crashes on login

Actually, PC Tools Threatfire may conflict with Skype, so you should try to disable this tool and see if this has any effect.

Re: Skype crashes on login

Hi Ruwim,

Thanks for that.

I uninstalled Threatfire and this seems to have resolved the issue.
