Skype crashes every time I open it! Help?

So I woke up this morning, and logged in to my user and it started skype as usually.

Then suddenly i get the normal windows error saying Skype has stopped responding.

The strange part is, after a few tries of trying to open skype, i let the error message stay there and Skype worked just fine. But when i pressed "Don't send" or "Send error report", It closed skype. What could be the cause of this?

Open Windows Event Viewer and look for any recent error messages with timestamp corresponding to Skype crash

Is your Internet Explorer working? Can you browse the web using your IE. Note that even if you are using another browser, Skype is using Internet Explorer installed on your computer.

Yes, my Internet Explorer is working just fine. No problems at all with it.

Try to reset all Skype settings.

Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata%, press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old. Restart Skype.

N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.

After getting back on Skype after many many months not having used the service - it worked twice - and then every time for the past week the message - "Skype home unavailable" - keeps coming up when I've logged in and I haven't been able to use the service - I tried to make a number of adjustments - reloaded the software - searched for all available software updates, etc, etc - but the same - "Skype home unavailable" message keeps coming up - what might be the problem !?

Home version will nopt connect.  I reloaded skype on my computer after purging it (I think), registered again.  Now it indicates that skype can not connect.  No clue what to do next.
