I'm trying to install skype on my windows (XP), but everytime when I run setup.exe and push "I agree - next" bottom, I receive follow errore message:
We are having problems connecting to the download server.
What shall I do? and how I can solve this problem to install Skype?
Thanks

I see Skype is now working.. so my question is, what is the issue? I have had Skype since it's conception. The company I worked for used it. I have had zero issues for years... now Microsoft purchased Skype, and there has been nothing but issues, month after month.

This morning when my computer turned on, Skype automatically signed me in and I was kinda shocked. I IM'd a few of my friends for a while before one of them invited me to a call. Upon said invitation, my Skype crashed and the "Incorrect Parameter" message was again displayed. I attempted your instruction, and now the Skype window will open, but remain blank with the "Incorrect Parameter" message right in the center.

How are you connected to Internet? Are you by chance using a Proxy connection?

I believe the creator of the thread said he would post the solution if anyone had this problem: My computer is a Windows XP, and skype, regardless of which verson I instal, seems to open up as a Datapage I believe, when I click "Forgot your password?" Or anything, it says it cannot launch browser. Additionally, the login button is there, but It is not a actual object... Just a picture. And the "Sign me in when I open skype" And "Start skype up when I start the computer" I can't check these boxes, it selects the words instead. Hoping someone can help me...

You have problems with your Internet Explorer. What version of IE is installed on your computer? Note that regardless which browser you are using, Skype is using IE for login and several other functions.
What exactly do you mean by saying that Skype "seems to open up as a Datapage"?

Dear ruwin,
thanks for your help. I could install Skype on my PC, but I have another problem now:
It seems skype can not use my internet connection and connect to server, I checked my firewall and Antivirus software's parameters, but I can not use skype yet.
Would you please instruct me to solve this problem also?
Thanks

This was a lifesaver as Skype stopped working on both my PC and laptop too after I accepted Skype 5.5 update (PC still runs Vista SP2 and Laptop runs Windows 7). Just completed a very important video call successfully. Thanks much!!
