Skype Version 6.9.106

I am trying to install version 6.9.106 on my Windows 7 Professional system. (64 bit). (All Microsoft updates have been installed). When I double click the installer it gets to "we are improving your Skype experience" but then nothing happens, and the program is not installed.

URGENT help resolving this problem would be appreciated.

Thanks and regards,

Roy

You can again try this updating procedure.

Download, but don’t run this installer for the latest 6.9.0.106 version.

http://download.skype.com/msi/SkypeSetup_6.9.0.106.msi

Using the procedure described here,

http://community.skype.com/t5/Windows/How-to-update-Skype-without-using-any-Skype-installer/m-p/7073...

extract the Skype.exe file from the SkypeSetup_6.9.0.106.msi file and replace your currently installed Skype.exe with this new Skype.exe file. You will be now running the Skype 6.9.0.106 version.

Re: Skype Version 6.9.106

The installer for ver 6.9 has been removed from the website, that link is dead now.

Re: Skype Version 6.9.106

I solved installing version 6.11.0.102 but I'd like to know whether the bug has been fixed in a new version. Does anyone have any news about that? The Downloads section of the website gives no info about the latest version number and I can't find any release note.
