I am able to login to skype on the website. Although, I am unable to login on the login box on my computer therefore I'm not able to use my account. I have tried uninstalling and installing the skype software and nothing is working. I have also contacted hp support for assistance and nothing was fixed.

My problem appears to be similar. A new version of Skype was downloaded on the 4th July and after that Skype has failed to work. "Skype Home Unavailable" is proclaimed followed by the promise that 'It's easy to start a conversation on Skype'...which it is not anymore as all the 'call' icons are pale green and unusable.
Running on Windows Vista, Skype version 5.10.0.114
I can login on the internet to access my Skype account...but it appears that my Skype software does not...what can be done?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Have you tried to change the connection status using the dropdown arrow next to the status icon?

I have no firewall and no antivirus programs for years. I still cannot open a Skype to make urgent business international calls. Skype became a very unreliable. This is disgusting to depend from idiots who are charging money and do not provide the service.
