When I try to send an instant message, the message is often shown as waiting for delivery (the recipient is on line). This can stay like this for some time (days sometimes). However, if I now initiate a call to the same recipient, there is a pause of maybe 5 seconds before calling, and then instant messages are all trnasmitted!
Any idea what is going on here, and how I can fix it. I am aware of a couple of other users experiencing the same problem. I have seen this problem with many of the contacts in my address book.
I have skype version 184.108.40.206, running on Windows 7 x64
I have tried completely removing skype, including the entire skype folder in the AppData folder, but the same problem persists.
Please can someone help?
I believe this is a flaw in the Skype system of delivering IM's. There's nothing us users can do about it. I'm hoping Skype is working on a fix. Unfortunately, there's no way of knowing how long such a fix will take to happen.
Please note: I do not respond to requests for help via Private Message.
Thanks for the information. Is it possible to know whether Skype is fully aware of this problem, and is there any means of tracking the progress?
Just discovered something interesting...
If I am in the situation of pending messages (before initiating a call to someone), if another party wishes to call me, they cannot establish a call. Once once I have initiated an outgoing call do the channels appear to clear..
Don't know if this will help to diagnose anything, but worth a mention.
