Skype Home window popping up constantly

Every time I start and login to Skype (5.3.0.120 !) the "Home" window pops up. There is no option to disable this. I realize that this is probably the 1000th forum post about this issue. However, I think that the users should make it very clear through all available channels that this is unacceptable behaviour by the Skype developers or, more probably, management. However, the issue seems to be extremely easy to fix and exists at least for weeks now. Additionally, there is the viciousness of adding the always-popup home window to older versions of Skype. Can you give us any proof that the issue is actually worked on right now?

For curiosity: did you revert from a 5.5.x ?

I did not revert.

I wrote about "viciousness of adding that window to older versions" before: It doesn't just go as far as them adding it to the 5.3.0.120 installer that is on their servers right now (you can download this version from the Skype website). No, it goes as far as them adding it to my 5.3.0.120 running on my computer.

at least the main executive file "skype.exe" version 5.3.0.120 remains completely unchanged.

popping up Home screen and Main window seeems to be under the sole control of skype servers.

I have uninstalled Skype until that absolutely stupid "Skype Home Page" stops popping up every time I sign on. I realise that the ad-men feel short-changed if they haven't taken over 100 % of my screen and time, but this imposition is excessive... Like spam, junk mail, junk SMS, junk fax and malware, this kind of thing is not worth the price.

Ditto. It is infuriating to be working on something and have two skype windows popup and take over the desktop every morning.
