Skype Crashing as of 11/19/2011

Started yesterday. As soon as I log on skype crashes. I use this a lot and would hate to loose this program.

I deleted skype and reinstalled and it's the same. What is happening? This morning I seen a post that skype had issues and the Home Skype was unavailable, now I don't see it.

Is anyone there that can help?

my skype is having a similar problem. when i click on a contat it forces a close and my windows solution tells me i sould try updating from the website. problem is i'm already completely updated. uninstal does nothing to help. seems like skype is going through another fail phase.

also forgot to mention that this problem seems to be avoidable if i quickly send a message to one of my contacts. :l  awesome.

I am having the exact same problem. A reboot did nothing and neither did reinstalling. 

FWIW: I'm running the latest version of Skype on a Windows 7 machine.

Ever since the 19th when I can sign in to skype, but when I go to make a call to anyone, it crashes within like 2 seconds of the call being connected. It says APPCRASH when I look into the details of why it's crashing. I use Windows 7. When I ask it to find a solution, all it tells me is that I need to update skype, but I have the latest version, so it's giving me wrong information then. I do not need to update my skype. The only other option it gives me when it crashes is to close the program. I can IM and stuff, just not make calls, audio or video. And here are the details about the crash that it gave me. Ahhhh, I use skype like every minute of every day can someone please help me and tell me what to do. And by the way, I tried signing into my old skype account...and I could make calls and stuff..so something is specifically wrong with MY account...but i'm not sure what. :/ PLEASE help.

An easiest way to fix the problem which I just did myself is

 1. Open Run
2. Type

%appdata%\Skype  

From here you will go to skype folder (FolderRoaming)

3. Find the file named Shared.xml  , then delete it.

4. Log on to skype again, it should work normally.

The above does not work for me nor fix the problem. I have Win7 and have tried the fix several times; i have uninstalled and reinstalled skype; nothing works.

Same here...  I have deleted, reboot'd, d/l the software three time, still will not connect.

Could someone from Skype please address this issue and provide us the solution.

I am also having the same issue, and nothing is working! Okay, it worked after the first reinstall but then I signed off for the night and it started acting up the next time I signed on. Now I can't even stay on long enough to message anyone.
