Skype Crashes as snapshot is taken on 5.8.158

I am using win 7 64 sony viao Recently upgraded skype 5.8.158 it crashes when we attempt to take snapshot Please help thank you

What do you see if in Skype you open View -> Snapshots Gallery?

Also, open Windows Event Viewer -> Custom Views -> Administrative Events and look for any recent error messages with timestamp corresponding to Skype crash.

I have exactly the same problem. Annoying as this is how I get pics of my son who lives abroad!! Try to reset Skype settings.

Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata%, press Enter or OK button. The Windows File Explorer will popup. Locate there a folder with the name Skype. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old. Restart Skype.

N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call history and snapshots. All data are still saved in the Skype_old folder.
