Hello,
Over the past few months I've had this continuing problem during video calls only (audio works fine). I am using a Lenovo Edge with an integrated web cam that is constantly up to date and Windows 7, likewise.
I have waited each time for a new update and sent feedback, with no response. Now I saw that the problem was supposed to be resolved with the latest update. Sorry, but it has not. I then followed the instructions for the uninstall (including erasing of all of the registry entries) and reinstalled Skype and configured Windows Firewall as instructed. All to no avail. I have Skype 5.5.0.117.
Webcam Details:
Silicon Motion Inc.
Driver: 5.50.2.7
No Update Available
Your assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Please note that I had to remove the "http" data after the event=xmins line as the posting system forced me to remove it: http://*************.com/win/2004/08/events/event"

Your problem might be similar to the one discussed here:

Yes. Thank you. The problem is with the Lenovo/Silicon Motion driver, thus the only solution (as neither Lenovo nor Silicon Motion will do anything to resolve this, with all probability) is to uninstall the camera via the device manager and let Windows install a generic driver at the next restart.
This is a stable solution, but will probably need to be repeated after system updates....
Thanks!

Go to Control panel, System and security, Under Administration tools there is Defragment your hard drive and click on it. Then click on C and click on Analyze disk. If is under 10% then you don't have to defragmet disk and if it is more than 10% then you have to click on Defragment disk. Repeat same procedure on D. It worked on my computer and I had problem with video and voice communication.(Skype, yahoo, msn....)

Very sad that neither Lenovo nor the camera manufacturer will fix their driver.

I have the same issue (Lenovo x121e). Before I proceed with your suggestion (my own technical limitations) - just want to be clear. 1. Uninstall and delete camera driver? On re-boot Windows will search for a driver - does it offer non Silicon Motion options or do I need to search the web. Which would I choose.
Thanks for your help
