Skype Can't Connect

Same problem here..... I found my firewall (McAfee) blocking the access to Skype. So I opened the port 9158, and also allowed Full access to Skype. It worked

I have Mac Os LION and have not installed antivirus stuff, but just re-installed SKYPE because the sound kept cutting out when SKYPE was on.  Specifically, right in the middle of a conversation the sound icon on my computer (upper right corner on the Mac) will go dim and although the other person can hear me, I cannot hear them - and I cannot get it back.  Then, with no change from me, it will spontaneously come back on.  That is still not fixed, but now I cannot even connect!!!  I am accustomed to a great working computer and this is making me nuts!!!

Just Uninstall McAfee like i did

But I don't have McAfee installed in the first place.  It is not on my computer to uninstall.

I had the same problem and just turned McAfee off.  This solved the problem instantly.
