Skype Blue Screen with no Login

Hi, for the past year, I have off and on tried to get Skype to work on this computer, but nothing I do fixes it. I have tried the console commands and updated everything to the very latest edition. I would just get the windows 8 version from the Windows store but the store never loads for me and I prefer the desktop version more.

I have an Asus k55a-hi5103D laptop with windows 8, a 64 bit op system, and Intel i5-3210M CPU

Thanks for your time.

Is your Internet Explorer now able to execute JavaScript?

Meanwhile you can try the “legacylogin” workaround, which should enable login to Skype using the old legacy login window.

Quit Skype. Make sure that you don’t see any Skype.exe processes in Windows Task Manager. If necessary, then stop these processes.

Open this folder on your computer:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype\Phone\

You should see there the Skype application file (Skype.exe).  Right click on the Skype.exe file and select: Send to – Desktop (create shortcut). Right click on the newly created shortcut and select Properties and then the Shortcut tab. In the Target field you will see now:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe"

Click with your mouse on the text in the Target field and move your curser one space after the last quotation sign and add the text /legacylogin. The text in the Target field should now read:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe"  /legacylogin

Click OK to save the changes. Start Skype using this new shortcut. Can you now login to Skype?

Re: Skype Blue Screen with no Login

Try first this:

Open Command Prompt in  'Run as administrator' mode.

http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/2754-elevated-command-prompt-open-windows-8-a.html

In the Command Prompt type:  cd c:\windows\syswow64 and press Enter.

Next type this and then press Enter:

regsvr32  jscript.dll

Next type this and press Enter:

regsvr32  jscript9.dll

After each Enter you should receive a message saying that DllRegisterServer in XXX.dll succeeded.

Reboot your computer.

Make now the test showing if your Internet Explorer can execute JavaScript.

Open in your Internet Explorer (no other browser but only IE 32-bit version) this page:

http://www.mistered.us/test/alert.shtml

Click on the “Simply Click This Button” button and watch the response.

What exactly is your issue with Skype?

What version of Windows are you on (XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 )? Is it 32-bit or 64-bit?

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827218

What is the version of Internet Explorer installed on your computer?

In Internet Explorer go to Help -> About Internet Explorer.

Re: Skype Blue Screen with no Login

These options do not work for me.  I just get a blue screen on skype, with the clouds and rainbow.  No option to login, and the Skype icon says I am not logged in.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit and Internet Explorer 11.  All the latest updates are installed.  It worked until I had to do a fresh install of Windows 7, two days ago, because a memory problem had corrupted Windows.  Everything else works on the fresh install, except Skype.

Any help available?
