Skype 5.5.0.124 memory issue [ Edited ]

Hi,

I am using Skype 5.5.0.124 on Win7 x64 and it is using between 130mb and 200mb memory all the time whether or not it is or has been used.

It should not take up this much memory should it?

I've seen it grow over 1GB.   All I do is text chat, maybe a voice call a couple times a month, and a video chat call once every 2-3 months (maybe).

How can I fix this?

How many text chats do you have opened simultaneously?
What's the memory usage 5 minutes after starting Skype?

I usually have anywhere between 8-12 chats open in the "Recent" tab. I chat all day every day for business. I just exited Skype and restarted and it went to 142mb immediately.

I have no open chats, no other resources being used and Skype is using 65% CPU as well as 320MB RAM immediately upon being opened.

I just thought I'd let you know it is notr an isolated scenario

I upgraded to the beta - 5.7.0.123 about a week ago.  The memory problem seems to have been resolved as it has been staying under 150mb, but there is a different problem.  There is a 2-3 second delay any time you perform any operation (minimize, maximize, change chat in the Recent tab, etc).  It appears that its searching for something on disk - my HD access light comes on each time I click something.

I'd rather deal with high memory than a delay every time you click something.  I'll probably downgrade back to 5.5 if the next release doesn't fix it..
