SKYPE keeps shutting down after I do anything

 I tried the link. I had tried everything other then using Internet explore as my browser when using Skype and going into Skype and deleting the jounal etc. files. It works perfect now. I think it was cleaning out Skype that really solved the problem but I will try using Internet Explore now when I use Skype and see if it works better. Again thank you so very much.

Everyone can try downloading skype beta from skype.com and setting the compatability to vista SP 2.

Try running  skype as an administrator. It worked for me. It may work for you. In my case, it appears to be a permission problem.

One minute SKYPE is working, and the next it isnt.. without me downloading or changing any setings on my comp(Windows 7 64-bit). i never had this problem with SKYPE on my old Windows XP  comp..i tried uninstalling re-downloading and installing again, along with trying it with every compatibility mode on the list.... NO luck... this is really annoying ... and with Skype crashing like this..i would NEVER consider becoming premium  =\

If you are seeing animated ads (video) and Skype crashes after a while, then this is due to a bug in the procedure used for showing these ads in Skype. However, the problem can be solved by installing the latest Skype 5.7 Beta.
