SKYPE LOGIN NOT SHOWING

Someone please help me! I have tried just about everything I can think of to fix this problem. Skype will download, but the login screen is blank. It is a blue box with the normal background of the login screen, but it doesn't have the boxes for a username and password. Any solutions? Thanks.

Please follow these Steps:

 

1. Only do Step 1 if you are on WIN7:

 

Stop Skype.

 

Be sure that Compatibility Mode is not enabled (right-click on Skype shortcut icon/launcher and select Properties >> Compatibility) - for Windows 7 users only.

 

Try to launch Skype.

 

2. If Step 1 fails or you are NOT using WIN7 do:

 

Open an Internet Explorer browser, and go to https://login.skype.com/account/login-form?intcmp=sign-in&return_url=https%3A%2F%2Fsecure.skype.com%... , what happens?

 

If you see a message box that contains a connect button, please click on the connect button.

 

If the page fails to display, Please do the instructions below. Using your Windows Control Panel, please do:

 

Internet Options -> Advanced Tab Please click the "Reset" button.

 

Then, Go to the Connections Tab.

 

Make sure that the only checkbox checked is "Automatically detect settings", then click the "OK" button.

 

Close any open Internet Explorer browser windows, open a new IE browser window and try https://login.skype.com/account/login-form?intcmp=sign-in&return_url=https%3A%2F%2Fsecure.skype.com%... again. What happens? If it works, please stop/start Skype What happens?

 

3. If Step 2 does NOT solve the problem:

 

Please install the normal version using the instructions below:

 

You can install the Current release by clicking this link: http://download.skype.com/SkypeSetup.exe

Please do NOT remove what you already have installed, simply, install over.

 

 

These instructions have worked for many and is the quickest thing to try to resolve issues such as this.

 

Also, what operating system are you on?

 

What is the Make and Model of your computer?

 

Do you have all Windows updates and updates to any hardware devices by the manufacturers?

I am on Windows 7 Dell Laptop. I got this computer a year or two ago, so it is fairly new. I tried all of those steps and none worked. I am able to log in on the skype website, but not on the program on my computer. I thought the last step was going to work, but there was an error dowloading it. Is there anything else I can do?

I also just updated my computer, so it is up to date on all programs.

Does using your Internet Explorer browser work?

 

Please install over what you currently have using the "Windows 5.8" link below.

However, the recent testing has shown that if you have the latest version of Internet Explorer (in your case IE9), then the problem can be resolved by appropriate registration of JavaScript components. See this:

Do this in order to test if JavaScript is working with your Internet Explorer:

 

Open in your Internet Explorer (no other browser but only IE) this page:

 

http://www.mistered.us/test/alert.shtml

 

Click on the “Simply Click This Button” button and watch the response.

 

If you don’t get a positive response, then you will need to perform the following registration procedure:

 

Go to Windows Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right click on Command Prompt, select 'Run as administrator'.

 

If your Windows is 32-bit version then do this in the Command Prompt window:

 

Type: regsvr32 jscript.dll, press Enter

 

If you have Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) installed, then additionally do this:

 

Type: regsvr32 jscript9.dll, press Enter

 

After each Enter you should receive a message saying something like: XXX.dll was successfully registered.

 

If your Windows is 64-bit version, then you need to ensure that in the Command prompt you are in the C:\Windows\SysWoW64\ directory. If you see that you are in System32 folder then type cd..  (2 dots are important) and then press Enter. Next type cd syswow64. Do the same registration commands as mentioned above.

 

Reboot your computer.

I did both of those and it still won't work. I put the picture of my problem as an attachment.

I checked for updates again and found I was missing two. I installed the updates and restarted the computer, but I still have the same problem.

Have you made the test to show if your Internet Explorer is able to execute JavaScript?
