SKYPE CRASHING RIGHT AFTER LOGGING IN

I am trying to use Skype on my Mac OS 7 Lion. Tried everything without any luck! Skype immediately crashes when I try to sign in. I have installed the new Mac beta version without success, run all the Mac software updates, updated quicktime, deleted individual files per the skype user support recommendation. Anybody with a Mac have any ideas??

Same for me. I had skype for 3 years and then one day this week it crashes repeatedly. I tried version 5.3 but it crashes too.

i joined skype and paid $20 and another$10 and still can't get on  i did once but not now

Same. I got my skype 2 days ago, and on the first day it was totally fine. Then one the second day (yesterday) I was on my laptop for 2 hours, watching the circle loading just to get a reply that skype cannot connect. Is there anything else for skype, because I need to study for midterms with friends, and I can't because skype won't answer me. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY???
