New skype download

Good Day,

If you have some additional time after you have helped the first questioner, I have a problem with the new Skype as well.

I have tried several times to upgrade my windows 7 system with latest version of Skype. The first try did not work at all and every other try gives me the following error messages.

The older version of Skype 5.8 cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group.  Installing Skype failed; code 1603.  A fatal error occurred during installation.

What do I do next?

I have answered my own question. The windows 7 uninstaller would not recognize that I had any Skype files at all on my machine. IObit's Advanced System Care uninstaller did a much better job of cleaning out the system. The new install is up and running. Hope this is helpful.

I had a skype account, but the email address I was using was my work email. I no longer work there and can't access it to get my forgotton username. Therefore, I created a new account. Here is my question, how do I access my old account so that I can download all my contacts?
