Problem with recording device?

Everytime I call someone or they call me it ends the call automatically and says problem with recording device. It works on everything else tho, how do I fix this?

Do you have all Windows updates and updates to any hardware devices by the manufacturers?

Also, you can use the Skype client program window at anytime and do:

Hellp -> Call Quality Guide -> Sound Check Wizard

What settings do you see for microphone in Tools -> Options -> Audio settings?

Just unplug the webcam or microphone, plug it back in and this should work. It did for me, but that might just be luck

hi,whenever i try to call via skype or they try to call me it dosnt work.it just faild the call. so how i can i fix it.i have windows 7home primium and asus web cam7.3.i am getting tiard of it.please help me .

try to set the sound input to microphone.

In the call, Click Call quality >> Microphone >> Set the input to your microphone.

I'm at work (without administrator's code) with a microphone "speechmike philips".  This microphone works fine on windows and other programs.

Even on skype, I can see that the volume of heard sound is moving! But still, skype gives to me the same error "problem with recording device" without further explanations.

Could you help me?
