Re: Problem Logging in

The problem is with your Internet Explorer and JavaScript.

What is the version of Internet Explorer installed on your computer?

In Internet Explorer go to Help -> About Internet Explorer.

P.S. Please, don’t say that you are not using Internet Explorer. This is irrelevant. Skype depends on Internet Explorer.

Re: Problem Logging in

Thank you for replying.

When I checked for my Internet Explorer version its blank, its really blank. I could provide you a picture or maybe you could give me another way to check my Internet Explorer version.

What do you mean skype depends on Internet Explorer?

Re: Problem Logging in

Skype is using Internet Explorer and JavaScript for creating and managing the login window and also the “Add a contact” window. Without working IE, Skype will not work properly. A blank “About Internet Explorer” window indicates that IE is corrupted. You may also do this test that will show if JavaScript is working, but my guess is that it will fail too.

Open in your Internet Explorer (no other browser but only IE 32-bit version) this page:

http://www.mistered.us/test/alert.shtml

Click on the “Simply Click This Button” button and watch the response.

You can check the version of IE by checking the version of the Internet Explorer executable.

Open on your computer this folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\

Find there a file named iexplore.exe (might be shown as “iexplore” only). Right click on this file and select Properties and then the Detail tab. Look there for File version or Product version.

Re: Problem Logging in

Owh okay well sadly Internet Explorer is not my preferable browser software.

It did fail what does that mean? What should I do?

Here is the file and product version;

File version 9.0.8112.16421

Product version 9.00.8112.16421

Re: Problem Logging in

OK. It appears that you have IE9 installed on 64-bit Windows 7.

Look here for an appropriate solution.

Be careful with selecting the correct procedure corresponding to your Windows system and the version of Internet Explorer.

Re: Problem Logging in

I follow the instructions correctly but I'm still failing the JavaScript test for some reason. I got until the message I got saying "............... succeeded" and rebooted my laptop.

And Yeah, I follow the instructions from the "Your Windows is Vista or Windows 7 64-bit."

Re: Problem Logging in

Probably in your case the best solution is to try to uninstall IE9. Wndows will in this case revert to the previous IE8 version, which may work.
