Hi,
When I click on the skype icon on my desktop it will start to run skype but it wont sign me in and the only thing that happens is the window pops up with a completely white screen.
I have right clicked the little icon on the taskbar to try and sign in but nothing, I have looked through all the options given at the top of the white bar and nothing again.
I have restarted my computer, uninstalled and reinstalled skype and restarted my computer again but still the same problem persists.
If anyone can help me I'd be much appreciative!

The problem is with your Internet Explorer and JavaScript.
Please, answer first these questions:
What version of Windows are you on? Is it 32-bit or 64-bit?

What is the version of Internet Explorer installed on your computer?
In Internet Explorer go to Help -> About Internet Explorer.
P.S. Please, don’t say that you are not using Internet Explorer. This is irrelevant. Skype depends on Internet Explorer.

My computer is a 32-bit windows vita home.
Try this:
Go to Windows Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right click on Command Prompt, select 'Run as administrator'.
The Command Prompt window should show:
C:\Windows\System32>
If this is not the case, then in the Command Prompt type: cd c:\windows\system32 and press Enter.
Type this and then press Enter:
regsvr32 jscript.dll
Next type this and press Enter:
regsvr32 jscript9.dll
After each Enter you should receive a message saying that DllRegisterServer in XXX.dll succeeded.
Reboot your computer.
Make now the test showing if your Internet Explorer can execute JavaScript.
Open in your Internet Explorer (no other browser but only IE) this page:

Click on the “Simply Click This Button” button and watch the response.

Try first to uninstall your IE9. Windows should automatically revert to IE8, if this was your previous version. Let’s see if Skype works with the previous version of Internet Explorer.

Thank you for all your help.
It turns out it was IE9 stopping it from working and now that its gone its fine, cheers!
