every time i try to call somebody on skype on my laptop it comes up with "problem with playback device" but on my ipod i can call and stuff, why does this happen ? is there any way to fix it ? please reply

Playback device is your soundcard and whatever you have connected to it, i.e. speakers or headset.
What sound card and driver is installed on your laptop? What settings do you see in Skype –Tools –Options- Audio settings for the Speakers?
