I am trying to get Phillips SPZ2000 webcam to work properly in Skype. Now if you search around on the web you will see that older versions like 4.x seemed to work fine but the later 5.x versions were not working.
I had the same problem but got version 5.5 to work but not using the webcam for audio in Skype and then then video would work just fine.
Unfortunately and upgrade to 5.8 has broken everything now so that even using non webcam audio and it does the same old trying to connect, turning the webcam light on but not able to initialise the video.
Any solution from the dev team for this?

Just bought a Philips SPZ2000 webcam. Thought I would download the software first as the downloadable manual says you need to do this first if you want to use their Cam suite (contains various extras). I connected the webcam and it worked fine on the computer. Then I went onto Skype and couldn't get a video image, signed out of skype and couldn't get an image on the computer either. I then disconnected the webcam and uninstalled all the Philips downloads. Reconnected the webcam for automatic installation (didn't do the suggested downloads first) and it worked fine with skype. Out of interest I then Updated the driver from the 2001 version to the 2010 version and it didn't work on Skype. Reinstalled the first driver and it works on Skype again. Would have liked to have played around with the Cam suite but can't be bothered to sort it out. The main thing was to get it working with Skype. Am using XP. Hope this is of use to someone else.
