No one is online, and I am not online for them

Hey person,

When I go online, knowing my friend is online, they do not show as online. I am also not showing up as online for them either. Why is nothing working? I have restarted my computer and reinstalled skype, what else would work?

Please use plain text.

Re: No one is online, and I am not online for them

when you say 'when I go online' do you simply mean when you run Skype? -- are you sure that you are indeed Online?

if you are Online, the status icon that is to the left of your own name (above your contact list and below the command menu) will be green with a white checkmark

if that icon is white, with a green outline, then you are Offline

try clicking the 'dropdown' arrow that is beside your status icon and selecting 'Online'

TIP:

when quitting the Skype client, it is not necessary to manually change your status to Offline -- while not running the Skype client, your status to others will be shown as Offline, and later, when you start the client and sign in, the client remembers your status from the last time, so you should automatically be seen as Online
