No Webcam Picture

Good Morning, I have an HP Pavilion Desk Top running Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2. The system has an Intel (R) Pentium (R) Dual CPU E2220 @ 2.4GHz. It has 2GB of Ram on a 32bit operating system. The size of the HDD is 220GB with 152GB spare capacity. My webcam is a Creative Live Cam Socialize HD 720p plug and chat and is connected to a USB port.

I have downloaded Skype version 5.10.0.114 and under "general settings" I can see the sound bar graduate with my voice but the webcam picture is solid black with a revolving round circle in the centre. My understanding from the check guide is I should be able to see myself. Please can some one help me to apply the correct settings. Regards, Bamm

Try to unplug the webcam from the USB port and re-plug again. You may also try another USB port. Make also sure that no webcam software is running when you are using Skype.

Hi Ruwim, thanks for your reply. Have tried that but still the same, also I'm sure the webcam is activated as there is a small red light visible looking inside the webcam through the lens. The only programmes that are running are Windows Mail and Firefox. Bamm66

Hi Ruwim, I was reading through the message board and came accross "HEADING" maintenance urgent alert. I had two of them 2 days ago, 1) "Maintenance urgent alert" and a second "Maintenance urgent system reminder" At the moment they are in the left hand box heading Recent of the Skype face page and located under Echo Sound Test. Are they a virus and what do I do with them? Regards, Bamm66
