Message purporting to be a Skype update.

For a few days recently I'm getting a small window saying there's a Skype update and if I allow it I have to accept automatic updates forthwith. I find this very suspicious as checking in Skype "About" I am up to date with version 10.0.2

Needless to say I have stopped it proceeding further. Is there anyone having this problem or is it only me that has some malware on board? Shall be scanning for such next.

Regards, coltech.

Are you on Skype for Windows? There is no Skype 10.0.2 Windows version.

Do you have a software called Air Messenger installed?

Re: Message purporting to be a Skype update.

Correction to my post on this but Skype version is 5.5.0.124 the one quoted in error was not Skype version. I'm still concerned about the matter of updating without my being aware. Who's the little dictator behind this. Smacks of Big Brother to me! Or MS??

Sorry ruwim but missed your reply...no don't have Air Messenger installed. Still remains the matter of updating behind my back...all updates are not always for the best I'm sure you'll agree, other than for security loop holes.
