I have been having trouble getting into Skype recently. I have the most recent version and have cleared registy and everything else. I even did the live help chat and got a temporary solutuion to this, but it is happening again. Every time I try to start up the application, instead of being greeted at the login screen, I am perpetually stuck at the screen seen in the attachment. Why is this doing this and how do I get it to stop doing this? I am leaving for college in 3 days, and I would like to have it functioning from there on in.

The problem is with your Internet Explorer and JavaScript.
Please, answer first these questions:
What version of Windows are you on? Is it 32-bit or 64-bit?

What is the version of Internet Explorer installed on your computer?
In Internet Explorer go to Help -> About Internet Explorer.
P.S. Please, don’t say that you are not using Internet Explorer. This is irrelevant. Skype depends on Internet Explorer.

My version is 64-bit, and it's IE 9 but isn't specifying a version number.

In leafing though previous threads around here, I came across that suggestion and did follow the steps to open command prompt and activate those scripts. This didn't change anythying, however.

Thank you. That worked. May I ask why it does that though?
