The Command Prompt window should show:

Re: Just Blue screen instead of Log in options

[ Edited ]

I have been studying these pages for a few weeks now. I have tried everything suggested. I have the latest of everything (Skype, I.E.., etc). When I type in the commands suggested, I also get the message that they are not recognized as internal commands. By the way, this laptop is new (bought in April of this year in Saudi Arabia), running Windows 7 and Skype worked fine even after I got home in Las Vegas for a while.

A friend showed me some new helpful protection programs and I downloaded them. The biggest one I downloaded was Avast (free only). Since then my opening screen is always the blue screen with clouds.

On that note; I also downloaded the same programs and am running all the same level programs on my PC and Skype runs fine.

This is very frustrating as I use Skype twice a day to stay in touch with my better half who is still in the middle east.

It is a little hard to find this page, if anyone thinks they have a solid fix for this please, please send it to my email with "Skype" in the subject line. My email address is: *removed for privacy* and my name is Joe. Thank you very much in advance.

PS. Please understand that I am a computer illiterate!
