Internet Disconnects as soon as I get on a call on Skype! Please Help!

I have been having a similar issue for the last 3 months with my skype! When I am on a call either audio or video on skype, randomly my WIFI disconnects and shows limited connectivity. After this I  have to disconnect the internet and reconnect to be able to use the internet or else everything stops working and the call drops. Mind you that we have 6 other laptops and computers in our home including Mac, Ipad and PC. On every single one of them the Skype connection works perfectly except when it comes to my laptop. This problem didnt exist before but everytime I use skype now it will for sure show a yellow warning sign on the wifi and says limited network activity. I just updated the skype two days ago hoping that wuld fix the problem but it doesnt. I folowed you suggestion of unchecking the upup and it doesnt help, plus I did try to reset my fire wall to the setting it said in another forum but that doesnt help either. Other that when I am using skype for chatting or if it is just plan simple open in the background I never have a disconected connection and I mean never. Only when I make a call its disconnects. I am really frustraed with this. Please help me figure it out. I am using Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit and its a fairly new laptop, less than a year. Please email me at adfe85@hotmail.com

Using the main Skype client program window please do:

Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Connection

Please uncheck the enable uPnP checkbox and click the "Save" button.

Stop/Start Skype

Any better?

If this works you should disable UpnP at your router/AP level.

i am having the exact same problem with skype.. i had a chat with a rep who insisted it was my computer.. so i even totally re installed windows.. and guess what.. the same **bleep**.. i am so tired of the run around and the being misled.. can u let me know it U get a fix ? crowblair@hotmail.com

ok i did this and it is stayin on so far.. but i have to test it stilll. u say to do it at router ap level but i have a wifi modem in laptop... how do i do that? so far so good but when i talk to my wife in spain tomorrow will be real test.. ty so far tho

In your case, you may simply need to do this at the computer level only.

Are you using a wireless network?

did you ever find a fix for this?  I am having this issue right now and cannot seem to find much help on how to fix it.

What version of Skype are you running?  Click on Help > About Skype for the specific version number.

How are you connecting to the Internet?  Cable?  DSL?  Etc?  And wired or wifi?
