I have very good Internet, but skype says "internet connection too slow for video"

[ Edited ]

To whom it may concern, I am having a VERY big problem with skype.  Skype had been working just fine in the last week, but in the last few days, there has suddenly been a MAJOR issue during a video call.  The "internet connection" bar would be just fine at the start, but would quickly degrade into red and i would get a notification saying "your internet connection is too slow to support video".  I have very good internet, and a very connection from my computer to my router and to the internet, so this "error" should NOT be happening and its getting quite annoying now as I've done numerous things to fix it, such as a complete reinstall of skype.  Below is the "call technical information" given during the video call.  Please help me fix it, as this is VERY annoying and has me completely baffled.  Thank you.

Do you have this problem only with this one contact (which is on Mac) or also with other contacts?

The Call Info shows very low upload speed (2 kBps).

I'm not sure, I've only chatted with this one person. It was fine for a number of times chatting with the same person before, but then the one time the issue suddenly started occurring. I'm not sure why it would have a very low upload speed, I have a good webcam, a good computer, and very good Internet connection.

Try to make a speed test on http://www.speedtest.net while you are on a Skype call with this contact.

Did you find a solution to the video showing the error message "the internet is too slow?"

I have fast internet connection, so how can I fix this issue?

Thank you for replying

gs13,

Try to delete the shared.xml file used by Skype.

Exit Skype : From the system tray >> right click on the skype icon and click Quit

Press WinKey + R to open the Run window

WinKey (the button is located between the left Ctrl and Alt with the Windows logo)

winkey1.png

type: %appdata%\skype and press Enter

Delete the shared.xml file.

Restart Skype.

Regards,
Tamim
