The only way I found to completely shut down Skype and prevent it from running in the background is through Task Manager. Is there a way to conventionally close it once I'm done using it?
I'm not sure what my version of Skype is, and I use Windows 7. Thanks, even though this is probably the default setting, it annoys me to death.
Right click on the Skype icon in the system try (close to the clock) and select Quit. You should also be able to do the same using the taskbar icon, but for this to be available you must have UAC enabled in Windows 7.
Please visit the link below to see the available Quit option in the recent Skype versions.
