Ever so often Skype wouldn't send a msg I had typed and it would give me that little rotating circle. Now sometimes it won't let me sign on and when Im lucky enough to get signed in it either shows me as offline and none of my contacts as being online or... (the MAIN reason I'm typing this) skype shows my missed messages and when I go into the messages to retrieve them I can see the message but that little orange dot never goes away and on the main skype window the (1) never leaves as well as the notification in the task bar which also flashes (1) or (2) etc. I also can't respond to them or message anyone new. It just gives me that rotating circle and also my contacts say that when they try to send me messages they get the same rotating circle. I have had to force close Skype multiple times using the task manager and I now have also gone as far as deleting Skype from my computer and reinstalling it.. in which while Skype was still installing itself I somehow got signed in to Skype in which the same not being able to respond to messages was happening so now I'm at a loss as to what to do to remedy this problem. Please help.. I use Skype to talk with my classmates and its finals week.. a veryyy inconvenient time for this to happen to me.

Try to reset Skype settings.
Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata%, press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old. Restart Skype.
N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.
