Group video call between premium account and free account

I am thinking about using Skype for my online language business.

It will be a group conversation style and I was wondering what happens if we (teachers) use premium account and the students use regular free accounts. Students only see teacher and themselves but do not see or hear other students that are in the same lesson?

Re: Group video call between premium account and free account

All particpants on a group video call will see each other, even though only one is required to have a Premium subscription.  It will look something like this:

Re: Group video call between premium account and free account

I need directions for initiating a group video Skype conversation in which all parties can view each other and the initiator has a Premium account. Do I follow the same directions as for the leader sees all and members only see leader and themselves, or how do I change the instructions?

Re: Group video call between premium account and free account

I would like to join a group for an upcoming class of one of my teachers.  I have the free skype account and he says I need to make a request using his ID, to join his group.  How do I do this.

Re: Group video call between premium account and free account

To g4pilut,

So only one person in the group has to have a "premium" account? All others can be individual and see and hear one another? Is there someplace on skype I can review that?

Harvey T.

[ Edited ]

I can tell you from personal experience that what I posted earlier is true.  I am a Premium subscriber and often have group video calls where I am the only participant with Premium.

However, you can see more here:

http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/features/allfeatures/group-video-calls/

If you scroll down to "What do you need?"  it says this:

At least one person on the call needs Skype Premium or a group video subscription from Skype Manager.

For everyone on the call to see video, each person needs:

To g4pilut,

Thanks for the info and the link, I learned a lot.

FYI, "wrhmcp" and "harveyt8" are the same person, but on different computers and versions 6.0 and 5.10 respectively.
