So I was kicked from a group I had started and invited to. Well I did some testing and it turns out Group Creator is not given to the person who actually initiated the group, but to the person on the receiving end of the conversation.
For example
Bob and Tom are in a conversation. Bob started the conversation by saying "Hi" to Tom.
Bob then invites other people to the conversation thus creating a group. Now instead of Bob getting /group creator Status, Tom gets it who did not create the group.

This is true, you would need to set your role in a 1 to 1 chat otherwise, the first person in a 1 to 1 chat to add others becomes the creator. Here are chat commands: http://kosi2801.freepgs.com/2008/12/20/skype_chat_

It's still a bad way for Skype to work, as the person who is supposed to be Creator isn't.

Well, maybe if you think about it this way, it will help?
In 1 to 1 chats, there is no such thing as a creator, both parties are equal.
Only when the first addtional party is added is a creator chosen, since now that chat has more that 2 persons in it. By default, the creator becomes the person who made the chat a multi-chat ("added others") > 2 people.

@Don -
read the first post again and, if the description is accurate, then Bob should have been the creator of the group chat since he added the third participant, but that was apparently not what happened
I agree with your description of how it should work -- it's just that this is not what was described in the OP

Apparently it doesn't work that way anymore. I've tested it multiple times and it is ALWAYS my counterpart who gets leader, and not myself who is the one adding people.

Please do this in a 1 to 1 chat that you started:
/get creator
Is it you?

The results of this test doesn't necessarily represent, confirm, or deny anything. Just want to share the outcome of my own tests; ![]()
1. Sample Account (username: skype.how) send an IM to Sample Account 2
2. Sample Account 2 confirmed the receipt of the message
3. Checked creator (/get creator command), result show skype.how or Sample Account is the creator
4. Sample Account Added Sample Account 3. Notification saying "Sample Account Created a Group Conversation" appeared.
5. Checked creator, and result show that skype.how or Sample Account is still the creator.
6. Opened the actual group conversation window, checked creator, same result (the same from the point of view of Sample Account, Sample Account 2, and Sample Account 3).
No irregularities in this case.
