Friend Request not being received

I sent my friend a contact request and they tried sending me one but neither of us have received the other request. Is there some way I can fix this??? Its really annoying and I just want to talk to my friend...

Can you both please try right clicking on the contact and see if there is a resend request option that can be chosen, if so, please chose it.

I have also had this issue, I have resent the request many times, reinstalled skype (the newest version) and got my friend to do the same but it's still not working?
